Tracy Callister, MD, F.A.C.C.
Tracy Callister is the senior partner of Tennessee Heart & Vascular Institute, P.C., (THVI), the largest cardiology practice in Sumner and Northern Davidson Counties. Dr. Callister is a graduate of UCLA School of Medicine, completed his cardiology fellowship training at the University of Vermont and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine/Cardiovascular Disease and a member of The American College of Chest Physicians, The American Society of Nuclear Cardiology and The Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. Dr. Callister also serves on the Board of Directors of the Society of Atherosclerosis Imaging (Austin, TX) and the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT).

He holds several clinical positions including Chief of Cardiology and is a Member of the Board of Trustees at Hendersonville Medical Center. Additionally, Dr. Callister has been published in numerous medical journals on topics related to cardiovascular disease including the progression of heart disease and the use of new technologies to diagnose and treat heart disease. His work has been published in noted medical journals such as The New England Journal of Medicine, Chest, Circulation, Journal of the American College of Cardiology (JACC) and Radiology.

Dr. Callister is an internationally recognized leader in the field of CT, having been trained well beyond the ACC requirements for all levels. Since 1996, he has performed/interpreted over 30,000 studies, including 5000 CT angiograms. He has authored or coauthored over 50 articles on this topic and served as an editorial consultant. He himself is a trainer in CT, and is a lead consultant and investigator for GE Health Care. Dr. Callister conducts Level II training opportunities every month through Tennessee Heart and Vascular Institute. The Core Class as well as the Advanced Classes qualify for CME’s through Medical Education Resources (MER). He is also the primary trainer on week-long Preceptorships for physicians from all over the world. As part of the curriculum, each trainee participates in 100 reviewed case studies and 50 mentored case studies, which requires the presence of the physician while each scan is performed.
